August 15, 2016.  Police Officer Antwan Sparks filed a lawsuit against his employer, Mt. Healthy, Ohio for the race discrimination he suffered there in 2015.  After he complained of race discrimination he was retaliated against, eventually losing his job.  He filed a grievance and won at the arbitration hearing.  The arbitrator ordered Mt. Healthy to reinstate Officer Sparks, but Mt. Healthy hasn’t done so.  “We expect our police officers to make life and death decisions every day.  The City of Mt. Healthy should listen to their officer’s complaints of having to work in a hostile work environment and have their back, not fire them for speaking out,” said Jennifer Branch, attorney for Officer Sparks.
